THE STORY

A musical ode to the classic Malayalam novel drawn from the Thousand and One Nights.

When the reckless nobleman Mansoor squanders his inheritance, his loyal and learned companion Daya saves him from debt by arranging her own auction and defeating the royal scholars in a contest of wit. Separated by desert turmoil, she disguises herself as Sameer and rises through martial skill, diplomacy and chess mastery to become the king's chief advisor. From the heights of palace power, she outmaneuvers conspirators, finds a wandering, destitute Mansoor and reveals her identity to the astonished court — forsaking royal prestige to reunite with him as equals.
