THE STORY

THE 1987 PROJECT is a time-travel narrative governed by the rule of the closed causal loop: the timeline cannot be bent by human intent, and the attempt to change the past is often the very thing that writes the future.

Rohith travels from 2045 back to 1987 with his partner Eldho to investigate the disappearance of a brilliant physics professor, Dr. Ravi — a man who vanishes inside a strict fourteen-day window after handling a palm-sized Chrono Device.

When the professor tweaks the prototype's frequency, an icy-blue spatial tear opens and swallows him whole.

The series closes on a single devastating realisation: bringing the device back to 1987 was never the solution. It was the cause.

THE CHARACTERS

  • ROHITH

    2045 / 2033 / 1987

A weary, determined traveller who returns to 1987 in a crisp off-white shirt and mundu — and discovers his journey caused the very tragedy he came to prevent. Across three eras, he is both the investigator and the unwitting architect of the loop.

  • ELDHO

    2045 / 2033 / 1987

Rohith's stoic partner and pragmatic anchor. He keeps reminding Rohith that the laws of time do not bend for anyone's regrets.

  • DR. RAVI

    1987

A brilliant but arrogant university physics professor whose dismissal turns to curiosity — and then to disappearance.

  • CLARA

    2045 / 1987

A captivating presence across time. In 1987 she is a quiet local churchgoer in elegant pastel saris.

  • KURUPP

    1987

A shady, manipulative antagonist. Rohith and Eldho eventually banish him through a localized portal to a place so far removed that return is inconceivable.
